Song No. 27

 1 wana u ya lila.
   A child is crying.
 Chorus:  Hee, Tshimange! (person's name)

The 'dancers' curl up on the ground, clasp their forefingers or thumbs under their buttocks, and roll over and over towards their left side while the song is sung. One mistress of initiation said that the song taught girls that a baby should cry as soon as it is born. Another woman said it refers to the novice, who is being reborn at vhusha. A further explanation was that it explains that a pregnant woman has a snake in her (see Song No. 14), and that is why a child walks first by crawling on its stomach.
