Song No. 43

1  Ndi yo malwa zwanga Ha Lutsinga.
I am going to be married at Lutsinga
 Chorus:  Lutsinga lwo thitho.
The bow-string has been pulled for me.

Ha Lutsinga is a place near Mutele, in eastern Vendaland. The pun on the word is made more intriguing by the fact that lutsinga may also mean 'vein' (especially of the male organ), 'contrariness' or 'cheek', and 'loin-cloth'. Here it refers primarily to the little bow and arrow which a small boy aims at a girl and her bridesmaids as they leave her home and begin the night journey to her husband's home.
