Other information - Displayed in 'The First Australians' exhibition at PRM, 1988-89. Displayed in Bethnal Green and South Kensington Museums (V&A). The inside of the shield is incised as well as the front, the grooves are quite wide. There are traces of red and ?white pigment. There may be the remains of an old Pitt Rivers stuck-on label on the front (which is the area where the clearest white pigment is to be found. The handle is carved from the whole
