5/8 Kanber. Osman {gl: his genealogy in 9 Genalogies general} - about 7 or 8 dnm (he said 4) - Haci Hseyn had lots (over 100), and seems to have had
about 7 children. Kazim his son ploughs a lot, it seems by - a) ploughing his brothers (Ekrekli) as yarc {sharecropper}, and by acquiring shares from dead
brothers. Also, when H. Hseyn died, Osman's grandmother was dead, Kazim's mother alive (cf. 9), so she took a quarter share, which later passes to her own
children. Widows take a quarter share under eriat {shariah} cf.3/182. Several people married to and movedto Ekrek, - land plentiful.
N.B. Although Mhettin has gone to Ekrek, he gives land to his brother as yarc.
{c: With the genealogy, this illustrates how complex inheritance and land holding can be. High death rates, plygyny and serialk polygyny, moves}

{gl: man at Istanbul university who did some resarch on the vlkg on my behalf. Not all that relibale?} {c: I did not raise the question of psaying him,
because of the implications of hiring researchers in the village. This raises questions of research techniques; and ethics?}
