Visit to i(0083 Mehmet Azgn)'s house. i(5088 Abide Azgn), (his wife) asks where I come from.i(5279 Nazife Tezcan) says England, i(5088 Abide) asks which
village that is - is it a near or far village. Nazife tries to explain that it's another country far away. Abide can't grasp this.

Contrast - i(0022 Selahattin Aksoyb)'s house. Younger women. i(5279 Nazife) says I come from England. {> check this number i(5030 Emine)and i(5032 Shre Aksoyb)
ask how I came - train, lorry? I say by ship to Istanbul, then train. {> i(5030 Emine) says - oh yes, much sea separates the 2 countries, deil mi?. They
understood that the journey might also be made by aeroplane.

Query? - younger women more knowledgeable. Wives of 'gezeci' know more of the outside world: 'gezeci' mainly younger men - younger wives? {c: Do men talk to
their wives? Do school girls talk to their elders? Five girls at school.}

i(0022 Selahattin)'s 'ev' - Paul and I said something to each other in English. Women (neighbour) said "how are they understanding each other, when they are
not speaking Turkish?" i(0270 Bilal Tezcan) said - "woman {kz}, there are many languages in the world, and they are speaking their own language." Conversation
with Paul followed as to number of languages.
