Houses and House Interiors
Glveren: Haci Bey's house. Approached through large havlu with store houses and stable. Up steps to a door leading into a group of 4 'oda'. The central one is
more of a general sitting room, built in 'oda' fashion, with 'sedir' on either side and an ocak at the far end from the door. Windows on either side of the
door, so room light and airy. Another oda opens off on right side - used mainly by Haci Bey - and Sleyman has another oda on the

right which is used by his wife. Bedding, etc. in this room, and in the left-hand one. A door of the right hand 'sedir' of the central 'oda' leads into a
further room, which could be used as an 'oda' but which at present is used as a store room. Pots and pans, spare 'yorgun', bottles, harnesses, and an iron,
kept in this room. All these rooms have generous window space, so that they are light and fresh - and with their stone floors cool in the summer. Underneath
these 'oda' are 2 'ev', with 'tandr', etc. These again are wider, larger and lighter than most village 'ev'. Plenty of space, and bulk stores kept in other
store rooms. Windows in the 'ev'. { see p.23}
