Houses and House Interiors
Ardi. Interior of Must. Osman 'oda'. - 'Sedir' along 3 sides, but very low. Ocak in far corner. Raised platform behind 'sedir' on one side on which bedding
stored. Water 'kup' and one or two large cooking utensils stored in the 'oda' - but the women are using this room during the day, while the men are out
reaping and with the kan}. 'Oda' approached up a flight of steps, leading onto a flat roof off which is the door leading into the 'oda'. Windows on 2 sides in
the 'oda' - light and cool.
'Ev' approached through gate at foot of these stairs leading into a 'havlu' with store rooms, sheep pen, and 'ev' at the back. This 'ev' is rather dark - has
one small window opening onto the 'havlu' - but gets little light and not much fresh air. 'Ev' follows usual pattern - tandr and kilim, wooden beams for loom,
cooking utensils against wall. Rather crowded and messy.
