Attitude of Women to Urbanisation, Westernisation.
At i(Emin Grbz)'s house, when gelin, i(Zeynep Grbz) , arrived back from visit to Kayseri and Anas Ocak{ fertility treatment} with husband. Recounted that
they went to Kayseri first, shopped together, bought necessary articles for the winter. i(Mehmet Grbz) took her for meal in a lokanta. Zeynep had wanted to eat
watermelon and village bread in the street. Mehmet said that would be ayip - must eat in lokanta. Zeynep v. shy (she said) - meal expensive - and only a tiny
portion of kfte and spoonful of pilv, which left her feeling hungry. Wld. have preferred village bread outside. Otherwise delighted with glimpse of city - saw
many things she'd have liked to have bought, but afraid to go into shops alone, and Mehmet was only interested in buying the necessary things which were
needed for the household.
