Custom to collect small coins (1 kuru, 2.5 kuru, etc.) from 40 houses in the village where there is someone named Mehmet. This money taken to the demirci,
melted down, and formed into a bracelet. The childless woman wears it in hopes that it will help her to have a child; the woman whose children have not
survived wears it at the birth of her next child. (see E2., p. 105-106).
