Visited wife of one of the visiting {craft course} teachers in the village. Renting an oda, furnishings are their own. Large hal on floor - colours too bright
- sedir covered with Namazlar and kilimler backed with yastk which were covered with the white gaily embroidered cloths and cushion covers of similar type to
those the Onba's { corporal of gendarmes in the village} daughter is making for her trousseau. Wooden cupboard - husband (being carpentry teacher) made it
himself. Radio. Large double bed in one corner draped with embroidered cover and 'oya'. { pinking, fine embroidery} Striking resemblance in all these
furnishings and draperies to what I'd seen in the Onbai's daughter's trousseau (see 2. p 38) - colours, patterns, motifs - all similar.
This oda belongs to one Haci. Large, airy room, windows along one side and at one end, approached up flight of steps from havlu, small entrance porch in
which Zeynep cooks.
