i(0024 Salih) on his business affairs.
1. He is working for the same firm.
He lost private connections so weekends are currently free. Private work is illegal - new law because of high unemployment imi.
2. He talked about a new venture.
A company selling and fitting tiles is for sale.
A German lawyer friend suggests a partnership.
{ A plan to invest in England failed, imi}
He would be one of three partners in the company. He needs 100,000DM (33,000).
5 years more in Germany. [He could keep his interest and go home presumably.]
More or less decided.
[I suspect this]
He has 70,000 DM in Turkey, sent for a muteahhitlik enterprise with an Ardili kinsman.
{Mteahhit}
i(0022 Selah.) phoned to say the man is not "becerikli" {gl : capable}, so he has given up and the money is en route back to Germany, but it takes weeks to
arrive.
He has the chance to borrow one third of DM100,000 and pay rest "taksitli" {gl : in instalments}. This would leave the 70,000 DM intact.
He has plans for "mteahhitli" {gl : contracting} eventually.
3. The lorry and his brother sank him.
He made a very big loss.
i(0022 Sel.) wanted to establish an electric flour mill in Sak. He agreed and sent the money.
{i(0024 Salih)} i(0025 Erkan) had phoned to say he was going to Saudi Arabia, and i(0024 Salih) had persuaded him by phone to stay and organise the flour
mill.
Instead i(Erhan) and i(0850 Gazi) changed the plan and bought the TIR against his wishes. i(0025 Erkan) takes drugs and gambles.
i(0023 Arif) gambles, i(Azin) gambles, i(0850 Gazi) began gambling 3 years ago.
So i(0024 Salih) alone saves and cares about the family.
