Catasto Onciario
Population census data in the register
Information in the Catasto Onciario is organised by owner and listed in alphabetical order of first name (a common practise in pre-modern Europe). As well as property data, a list of family members is given within each entry. The example shows the family of Lionardo Popoli taken from the register. There are links to other records of his family, one of which is from the atti preliminari for this cadaster.
There is further information about the Catasto Onciario, with details from this example concerning taxation, property and debts.

Notes
- 1 bracciale
- labourer, literally one who works with the arms. The same term is used for both agricultural and urban (e.g. building) workers.
- 2 ducat (docato)
- largest value coin in the monetary system of the Kingdom of Naples in the 18th century.
The family consists of the parents, two married sons, their wives and young children, plus an unmarried brother. The relationship between people and houses is not stated other than the statement that Lionardo resides in his own house later in his entry.
